Everything about Musicland Studios totally explainedMusicland Studios was a recording studio based in Munich, Germany. It was established by Italian record producer, songwriter and performer Giorgio Moroder in the late 1960s. The studio itself was situated underneath the Arabella Hotel (now part of the Sheraton chain of hotels).
Musicland was used extensively throughout the 1970s and the 1980s by a wide variety of artists, including Marc Bolan & T.Rex, Led Zeppelin, Queen, the Rolling Stones, the Three Degrees, Electric Light Orchestra, Donna Summer, Deep Purple, Amanda Lear, Freddie Mercury, Sweet, The Carats and Elton John.
Musicland Studios closed at the beginning of the 1990s because the nearby subway train was affecting the recording quality.
